Filling out paperwork for Cooksey's Lifeguard and Swim 

Below are the links to all the paperwork that you will need to be able to start working at Cooksey's Lifeguard and Swim Academy LLC. Please make sure you read through everything thoroughly to make sure it is done correctly and all of your questions are answered. 

 

Once you are all done filling the paperwork please wait for an email from: hr@cookseyswim.com that is titled "ready to work".

If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. We know for many of you this is your first job and you may not know what to do. Please call 818-475-7939 and we will walk you through what to fill out. Once again welcome to the Cooksey team!  

 

Complete each of these steps. Item #1 is the most important one, it will get you into ADP run and WhenIWork. Once you are done with all the steps email hr@cookseyswim.com and title it "ready to work". This is make sure you are put into the systems as fast as possible.

New staff intro form

This is the most important step to starting work and getting paid. We have a lot of places we lifeguard for, this form is to find out what locations are best for you, the amount of hours you're looking for, and to get to know you a bit. Once you fill this out you will get an email with two links. One to our payroll system and the other to our scheduling system.

CLSA staff HANDBOOK

Make sure you pay attention and read through our handbook thoroughly, it has crucial information pertaining to working with us, what is expected of you as you begin and throughout work, as well legal considerations and obligations.

job descriptions

The job description outlines exactly what is expected of you each and every day that you work. It documents your pay rate, your qualifications, and answers any questions you may have about the day-to-day at each site you are on. Unless you have been hired specifically for a position besides lifeguard, you will be filling out our main lifeguard job description. If you were hired for another position such as a head lifeguard or camp counselor, you will be filling out for that position. If you will be working multiple positions, you will need to fill out a separate description for each one. Pay rates always start at $18 for contracts for lifeguards and $25 for private events and move up depending on work ethic, reliability, and experience. If you are not sure your pay rate, please confirm with HR before signing and sending back to us.

Background Check (only if you are over 18 years old) 

This background check is mandatory for everyone that works in California. We work with a lot of children and need to make sure everyone is safe. It will say Happy Swimmers USA and that is because we are using our sister company to run the backgrounds. This background check takes a couple of days to process please do it ASAP. 

Whew! You are (finally) done!  

You will receive an email confirmation with a link to your When I Work account. Please put in your availability right away so that we can begin to schedule you. Please make sure to ALWAYS keep your availability up to date. Availability needs to be updated every Sunday night by 11:59pm for that coming Saturday though Friday. 

direct deposit

You will be getting a email from APD, but if you are having a hard time logging here is the direct deposit form to fill out. Remember that if anything needs to be changed like tax info, address, or direct deposits you can do this all through APD Run. 

Lifeguard for contracts

Submitting Instructions

1. Open document and download it to your computer 

2. Fill out completely-make sure there are no errors in numbers

 

3. Save document as "lastname_directdeposit" i.e. Smith_directdeposit

4. Press top right link icon      , copy link to your filled out document

 

5. Insert link into email to hr@cookseyswim.com

6. Send out email with document links from steps 1-4 

Payroll Dates 

Here are the payroll dates for this year. Please keep this for your records so you know when you are going to get paid. Remember that if you do not sign up for Direct Deposit you will have to wait for your check in the mail.
